Zirconia Toughened Alumina (ZTA) ceramic components are composed of alumina, yttria-stabilized zirconia, and strontium aluminate. By precisely controlling the chemical composition, optimizing the shaping and sintering processes, a dense microstructure with zirconia crystals and strontium aluminate platelet crystals uniformly distributed in the alumina matrix has been achieved, with a density of over 99.5% of the theoretical density. In this structure, the grain size of alumina is 0.6 to 0.8 microns, the grain size of zirconia is 0.2 to 0.3 microns, and the length of the strontium aluminate crystals is 0.8 to 1.2 microns.
01
Precisely controlled chemical composition and microstructure
Uniform and dense microstructure endows ZTA ceramics with the high hardness of aluminum oxide, the high strength and toughness of zirconia, as well as the crack deflection characteristic of strontium aluminate, thus possessing extremely excellent mechanical properties. The Vickers hardness reaches up to 20 GPa, and the four-point bending strength is as high as 1334 MPa, far exceeding the requirements of industry standards.
02
Excellent mechanical properties
Excellent mechanical performance, optimized structural design, and advanced processing technology, the trinity makes the ZTA ceramic femoral head have extremely outstanding mechanical performance. The static crushing strength of the femoral head (model 28L, Worst Case) is as high as an astonishing 9.5 tons, far exceeding the FDA's requirement of 4.6 tons, and also significantly higher than the market's products of the same type with a strength of 8.3 tons.
03
Astonishing crushing resistance
The specifications of ZTA ceramic femoral head and acetabular liner are complete, including diameters of 28mm, 32mm, 36mm, and 40mm, which can meet the clinical needs of all target patients.
